FlySchooling :)

Well, it worked! FlySchooling worked! DD is doing great so far. It's only the first week, but we haven't been late once. She is always happy to be going. She enjoys her day and can't wait to tell us all about it. So it looks like as long as I keep up with the checklist for DD we should be good. I haven't made any adjustments but I think I may. She seems to be "not hungry" in the morning. Don't know if she's too excited or what. She ends up eating about half her breakfast then doing everything else on the list and ending off with eating some more while watching kid shows.

FLYing - Going not bad. I decided that things are pretty good around the house. I've been working at doing some cleaning but skipping the Zone stuff for the most part. I really want to work on the basement/disaster zone. So today, I took my vacuum down the stairs, working on them while I went, and started vacuuming down there. Nothing is finished so it's quite messy. There seems to be webs and dust bunnies everywhere. :P Hopefully no more appear before I get back down there to do some more. LOL

Happy birthday to me. :)

So, Saturday was my birthday. Can't believe it's come around again. Seems like I just had one. LOL But no, it's been a whole year. Celebrating started on Friday with lunch out with my two kids and my good friend. The kids were fantastic while we were out and charmed everyone near our table. My DH and I went out with another couple that night while my sister babysat the kids. It was so nice to get out without my little darlings for a change. Saturday was quiet and pretty relaxing. DH picked up my favourite chocolate cake, Bacio, at an Italian bakery. Sunday we had lunch with more family. Not a bad weekend but now it's back to reality.....

FlySchooling - We started practicing again last night and this morning. DD did not too bad although she was slow on breakfast. She would have been late if she actually had to go today. I'm going to have to try to come up with some more interesting breakfasts I guess to get her going. I just don't know if I can handle it. I am NOT a morning person and it's already a struggle for me to get up. Hopefully I can think of stuff I can get ready the night before. Normally she has cereal but likes to have other stuff too.

FLYing - Not bad.... I think I'm starting to get more into the swing of things. I got out my checklists I had done up before. I was trying to get organized and start on them but didn't go as smoothly as I would have liked. DH ended up coming home early as his office was way too hot. I did get my floor tiles washed and did a bunch of laundry including the mats for the back door.

Funny story for today - Okay, it wasn't funny at the time, but my DD woke up my DS from his nap when she came to talk to me while I was in the shower. I had just got in and got totally wet when DD bounded up the stairs. She talked too loud and woke up her little brother. I quick finished up but didn't get a chance to shave my legs. Now they need to be shaved as it's shorts weather around here, for sure! So now, 10:30 at night I finally got the opportunity. There I was sitting on the side of the tub and trying to get my legs shaved quickly in case DS wakes up again. Lucky for me, he didn't. Can you imagine only getting one done?!? LOL

Happy FLYing!

First day on the trial run....I'm exhausted!

I NEED SLEEP!!! LOL Yesterday I bought my DD an alarm clock. I was sure we were going to have issues when she starts school and I wanted to start getting into the "school routine." What am I nuts?!? I printed her Bedtime and Morning Routines and we set off on this new adventure. I got the alarm all set up and tested it last night. She decided she wanted to wake up to Rock 'N' Roll, not the buzzer.

So this morning.... She was in my room telling me it was 7AM before her alarm even went off! She heard mine go off and came running. LOL I had to collect my thoughts and try to make sense of it all. I haven't been getting up quite that early lately as DS has been sleeping in. With DS still in bed, DD and I started on her Morning Routine.

So the Routines are working out well so far, I think. Looks like I have the right time. We're going to keep practicing till school starts. Hopefully we'll all get used to this.

Surprise for Mommy - Apparently DD doesn't want her regular lunch of cheese, crackers, veggies and dip to take to school. You see, this morning I even packed her lunch (I wanted to see if I had enough time to get it all made too). I asked her what she would like if she was going to school and she told me a chicken sandwich. WHAT?!?!? That isn't veggies and dip. Looks like I'm going to have to plan a "school lunch menu."

FLYing - Not much today. I got sidelined with a project I forgot all about. Hopefully I can wrap up some more of it tonight. Won't be doing much over the next couple of days as my birthday celebrating starts at lunch tomorrow. :D

Hugs.

Another day of getting back into it...

So today is another day, not really another story but at least more progress. ;)

Fly Schooling - 14 more days till DD (darling daughter) starts school. I'm feeling pretty ready and organized. I've got to pick up an alarm clock for her when we go shopping next (should be the next day or two) then we'll try out the new routines for morning and night. I want to make sure that we've got enough time in the morning to get everything done and her ready on time. DD has been known to take 2 hours to eat breakfast. LOL (That is while watching kid shows.) I need to figure out my routines too so that DS (darling son) and I can have everything done too. Should be interesting.

FLYing - Not too bad today. I ended up scrubbing every inch of my stove. Funny story - I went to boil some water for DS's bottle and spilled it all over the stove. While trying to sop up the water, I realized I should really clean it. So I tore everything apart, let some of it soak and scrubbed the rest. Can't believe it but it looks almost brand new. Vinegar/Water and elbow grease works great. :) For those of you who don't know what FLYing is, check out www.flylady.net.

I took the kids to the library this afternoon. DD sure likes getting stuff. As soon as we got home she had to put in a movie that she picked out. Not sure when we'll go once she starts school. I could take just DS before having to pick up DD. Decisions, decisions.

Well, DH (darling husband) is home. Better get doing other stuff.

Hope you are having a great day! Hugs.

My first blog....

So, I've never done this before and I don't follow many but thought I would try out blogging. I started FLYing a few years ago but fell off the "bandwagon" and am now getting back into it. I was posting on the forum but it was turning into a blog. My sister suggested I start my own so here I am. :)

FLYing - To start getting back into FLYing, I decided to first get rid of all my old FlyLady emails. I had over 2000! Since it was still early in August, I deleted all of them but August. I've already read through most of them and am trying to get back into it.

Fly Schooling- My DD (darling daughter) is starting school in a few weeks and I want to do this the right way. I've already put together some routines for her and am now working on figuring out how my routines are going to go. We've also been working away at picking stuff up for school, getting one item each time we go shopping. Sure makes it easier on the pocketbook to spread out the cost.

Well, I've got to get my dishes finished and fee the baby again. Every SAHM's life is busy, busy.

Have a great day! Hugs.
